Extreme Linux
In cooperation with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Red Hat Software
is very proud to present Extreme Linux, also known as the Beowulf Project.
If you're into rocket science, you've come to the right place! Extreme
Linux will allow you to set up a computer cluster using parallel
processing (multiple machines acting as one computer).
Building a computer cluster with the OS and tools that are included in
this $29.95 CD-ROM product will provide researchers with radical improvements
in the amount of processing power available to them for a given dollar of
investment.
Having access to complete source code of these tools will allow the students,
researchers, and technical end users to understand this technology at a
level never before possible, resulting in a more effective, higher
performance computing platform.
This CD-ROM was prepared by USRA/CESDIS at the NASA Goddard Space Flight
Center for the NASA Beowulf Project. This CD-ROM consists of tools and
manuals for clustered computing both collected and developed by the Beowulf
Project. The software contained herein has been integrated with the freely
